frequently asked questions

Why should I use your assessments over other assessments that I find online?

There are many variations and imitations of the assessments that I use, especially for the MBTI. The assessments I use are industry standards and have been around for decades. This means that there have been many studies and inquiries into the validity of the various assessments I use. The result is extremely accurate assessments that will give you immense insight into yourself as well clues to how you can improve yourself in really effective and useful ways.

What is the difference between coaching and consulting?

Coaching is typically a relationship between a coach and a client where the client is working on achieving a particular goal (such as writing a paper or getting an advancement at work) or resolving a particular issue (such as overcoming a fear of public speaking, etc). Consulting is typically an approach characterized by assessing the needs of an organization, designing a plan for attack and implementing that plan. Although easily categorized as coaching, we refer to our services as consulting since we use assessments to ascertain need, design a plan of attack for achieving success and then implementing a plan that will result in the successful completion of the planned directive. However this is done in a one-on-one relationship rather than at an organizational level.

Is this the same as counseling or psychotherapy?

This is NOT counseling or psychotherapy. Psychotherapy typically consists of a counselor or psychotherapist working with their patient towards overcoming a psychopathological issue, such as depression or anxiety. Individuals who present psychopathological issues will be encouraged to seek a professionally licensed psychotherapist for therapy.

What is a “webinar”?

A webinar is an online training community designed to bring like-minded individuals together to learn more about a particular subject. It would be like going to a workshop or lecture, but in the comfort of your own room or office. Our webinars often deliver the same content as our one-on-one coaching sessions, but at a much more cost-effective price (however, without the one-on-one attention).

When should I do a webinar vs. coaching?

Webinars are great because they offer much of the same content as coaching, but at a fraction of the cost. So if budget is an issue, I would recommend one of our webinars. You also need to be relatively self-motivated and a self-starter to be ideal for a webinar. If you are the type of individual that needs to have someone help you keep on track and to work on your very specific needs, coaching becomes a better option (especially if money is not as much an issue for you). Check out our coaching and webinar programs and see what works best for you.
